CKD for Healthcare Professionals

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a condition that progresses inevitably with an increasing impact on the daily life of patients. An important aim for treatment is to slow the progression of this disease while trying to preserve quality of life of CKD patients and their families. This page will give an overview of the conservative therapy option of reducing the dietary protein intake of patients and - depending on the level of reduction - with or without the supplementation of ketoanalogues. Clinical evidence for the efficacy and safety of the supplemented very low protein diet (sVLPD) and the most important studies can be found after the log-in. On top there are helpful materials for HCP to help their patients to get started and be adherent to the therapy.
